Police seeking two men following violence after Sheffield United match

Police officers are renewing their appeal for information about two men they wish to speak to following violence after a football match last year.

The disorderly incident is said to have taken place in the London Road and Hill Street area between 5pm and 5.45pm, after Sheffield United’s fixture against Birmingham City on 1 October 2022.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “A number of men were reported to have been punched and bottles and missiles were thrown.”

Officers have investigated hours of CCTV body worn footage from the night, and have followed up several lines of inquiry.

With help from members of the public, they have identified some of the men they originally appealed for, but are still looking for the two men in the picture.

Anyone with information is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police via webchat, their online portal or by calling 101 quoting incident number 236 of 01/10/2022.

You can still provide information while remaining anonymous by contacting the charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
