Psychedelic rock band Marseilles is kicking off their first UK headline tour in Sheffield.
The gig is taking place at the music venue Network which has hosted big names such as Inhaler and Louis Berry.
Marseilles’ self-proclaimed ‘Psychedelic rock n roll’ genre has gained massive popularity, inspired by artists such as The Beatles, alongside the 90s Manchester style.
Fans reacting on social media said “Brilliant news for a brilliant band” and “Literally cannot wait!.”
This has led them to have their first sell-out show in Newcastle, taking place at Little Buildings.
In a conversation online Will Brown, speaking on behalf the band, said: “Newcastle is gonna be MASSIVE. First sell out as a band and a first of many.”
Marseille are well prepared for their upcoming shows, analysing great bands and using them as an inspiration for their stage presence.
Will said: “The crowd can expect off the chart tunes, all night long. High energy and rock n roll goodness mixed with a healthy bit of 60s psychadelia.”
This has led them to become signed to Birmingham record label ADR records.
Will said: “We’re determined to be the next and we’ll keep working till we get there and keep writing great songs.”
This determination has led them to find success, performing at The Isle of Wight festival and Y-Not in previous years.
Alongside this, they’ve made it onto the lineup at other events, most notably Stockton Calling which also features big names like Circa Waves and The Sherlocks.
The band said: “Now we’ve completed the line-up, been gigging loads, writing some great tunes and the support from fans has been absolutely amazing so this is our chance to give back and give them some out of this world gigs.”
These songs, including their recent release of the single Only Just Begun have been pushed through the challenges of the Covid outbreak.
With the band members’ age mainly being 18, their musical career is still developing and their aspirations are growing.
Will said: “The big aim is the same aim as many others, we want to be worldwide and known by all.”
