A river in Sharrow Vale near Cemetery Avenue has turned a mysterious orange colour and the cause is yet to be confirmed.

The video of the Porter Brook river was taken this afternoon by university student, Alex Harvey.

Alex Harvey, 21, stated: “I was so confused when I walked past the river it looked like tomato soup.”

It was last reported to have turned this colour in 2018 which was believed to be caused by discharge from the mines.
