More than 50 jobs created as Tim Hortons plans first Yorkshire drive-thru in Sheffield

Canadian restaurant brand, Tim Hortons, has picked Sheffield to open its first drive-thru restaurant in Yorkshire, creating more career opportunities for people.

The new restaurant will be located at the Crystal Peaks Village Retail Park offering dine-in services for up to 118 guests as well as drive-thru and delivery services.

Chief commercial officer of Tim Hortons franchise in the UK, Kevin Hydes, said: “As we continue our expansion across the UK, we knew it was only a matter of time before we found the perfect location to bring our first Tim Hortons drive-thru to Yorkshire.

The opening of the restaurant is a part of the brand’s plan to open Tim Hortons restaurant in every major city and town by 2022 and create over 2,000 jobs across the country.

Mr Hydes said: “We look forward to engaging with the Sheffield community and are proud to be offering over 50 career opportunities for locals.

“We are recruiting for a variety of full and part-time roles and would love to hear from all those passionate about a career in hospitality, no matter the experience. We will be accepting applications from today via our website.”

“We’ve had huge demand to bring the brand to Sheffield and it really excites us to be launching in a city famed for its Ice Hockey and presence within the Elite League.”

The opening date is still unknown but the company is planning to open its doors in summer 2021. Customers will be able to enjoy Canadian premium coffee, freshly baked goods such as donuts and the brand’s famous Timbits. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals will also be available.

In June 2017, Tim Hortons opened its first restaurant in the UK on Argyle Street, Glasgow. Since then 26 more restaurants have been serving the brand’s signature coffee and donuts across the country.

Tim Hortons brand was founded by a Canadian Ice Hockey player in 1964. Brand is known for being very active on all social media platforms, interacting with customers by providing exclusive updates and news and conducting giveaways.
