A 66-year-old man and his dog have died after a collision in Rotherham yesterday, March 9.
The man was driving the vehicle, and the dog was in the back of the car at the time of the incident.
He was driving a black Mazda 3 uphill on Pleasley Road towards Aughton just after 8am, when he collided with a grey Mercedes travelling in the opposite direction.
The 57-year-old Mercedes driver is currently recovering from an injury to his stomach in hospital.
Police want to hear from anyone who was in the Aughton area yesterday morning and witnessed the collision. They are also keen to know the manner of driving of both vehicles prior to the accident.
Anyone who has any CCTV or dash-cam footage of the cars driving or the collision are also encouraged to contact the police.
