A local thrift store in Sheffield town centre has announced its sudden closure, amidst continuing lockdown restrictions.
Vintage shop ‘COW’ based on West Street in Sheffield made their goodbye statements via Facebook and Instagram, revealing that they will be shutting down for good.
They did not specify why they will be closing down, revealing only that it is due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
The branch in Sheffield is one of the stores original shops.
There are only four other branches of the store across England, with the next closest store being in Nottingham.
The store offers trendy vintage and re-worked fashion pieces, with an aim to put a stop to the growing issue of fast fashion.
They said: “You will always be our lil cowboys and cowgirls and we will miss all the lovely customers that have supported us throughout the years, we are forever grateful.
“We’re staying optimistic for the future and hopefully we will back again, but for now, this is goodbye.”
They were met with many comments of support, with followers expressing how sad they are at the closure of such a trusted thrift store.
Fans said that they were “gutted”, and that “the store will be missed.”
The Instagram post received more than 3200 likes, and the account itself has over 11,000 followers.
