Sheffield Cathedral will hold a light show from tomorrow, running until 20th March.

The light show, called “The observatory”, is the second time that Sheffield cathedral has collaborated with award-winning artistic Luxmuralis.

Previous work by Luxmuralis include Sheffield Cathedral’s 2019 Christmas experience ‘The Angels are Coming’, as well as imaginative light projections in Germany, Italy and other parts of the UK.

Ian Maher is the staff member from Sheffield Cathedral. He said: “‘The Observatory’ will take you back to the first moon landing and let you walk amongst the stars and galaxies.

“The light show is inside-only and you’re welcome to stay as long as you like, but we recommend setting aside one hour to walk around at your own pace.

“Doors open at 6:40pm with new entry slots every 20 minutes and the last entry slot at 9pm.”

The Revd Keith Farrow, Canon Missioner from Sheffield Cathedral said:

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the wonderful response to ‘The Angels are Coming’. There is a real buzz of excitement in the air!

“We are very much looking forward to welcoming the people of Sheffield and those who have travelled from further afield back to the Cathedral in March 2020 for The Observatory which promises to be out of this world!”
